Dr. Sally J. Foote is a veterinary behavior consultant, writer, and speaker. She has presented at national conferences including the AVMA, VMX, and Midwest Veterinary Conference. After 34 years in general practice, with 30 years as the owner of Okaw Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Foote now focuses her time creating content and building the discipline of Low Stress Handling® , the legacy of Dr. Sophia Yin. Dr Foote is the executive director of CattleDog Publishing, founded by Dr Yin. Dr. Foote received her DVM in 1984 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Certified Animal Behavior Consultant by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and Low Stress Handling Certified – Silver and Fear Free Certified. As past president of the American Veterinary Society of Animal behavior, Dr. Foote is active in promoting education, collaboration and community for veterinarians. Her hobbies include hiking in national parks and in Europe; knitting; and enjoying the quiet life in rural east central Illinois with her husband, dog Bella, and daughter.
